A Chief Executive Officer is the leading decision maker and responsible for the company's overall success. That individual is responsible for executing a global strategy, innovating product lines, and , in our case, moving the company to commercial sales .
That individual should be paid " well " with the expectation that goals will be achieved with growing financial resources .
Understand those here that express concern over two " failed ' clinical trials , no commercial sales , perceived delays to the market and a CEO who is not
" flashy " .
Approximately a year ago , CEPI granted Novavax about half a billion dollars . This was their highest grant EVER ! CEPI obviously had/has confidence in Novavax to move vaccines to less developed countries. Do you really believe there were no conditions and milestones between CEPI and Novavax and that these markers would impact some of the decisions made by Novavax moving forward ?
Look many here who heavily criticize CEO Erck are basically saying that he has failed to meet their expectations . Fair enough !
Some of us see a company with leadership and determination in working with global gatekeepers and are truly " committed to delivering novel products that leverage our innovative proprietary recombinant nanoparticle vaccine technology to prevent a broad range of infectious diseases. "
TIME will tell us whose expectations were more accurate !
